The Francophone Studies Minor offers courses in the language, literatures and cultures of France. Students in the minor acquire advanced language skills and cultural knowledge as well as linguistic and cultural proficiency in French language and more. Students gain transferable skills such as global awareness, cross-cultural literacy and the ability to work with diverse groups, preparing them for employment in fields including cultural consulting, international business, interpreting, journalism, public health, media sales and tourism. In addition, a background in Francophone studies may benefit those pursuing primary studies or future graduate work in anthropology, art history, law, political science, religious studies and sociology.  

Minor Requirements (18 Hours)

Students who place out of some or all of the core language courses will take the 18 hours in literature, civilization and advanced language courses (as appropriate).
