The minor in Speech Communication prepares students to excel as speakers and communicators in business, organizational, political and cultural settings. The curriculum includes training in public speaking, studies of political arguments and debates, analysis of how we communicate through visual representation, cultural practices and more. This minor is especially beneficial to students with primary studies in political science, history, pre-law, public relations, journalism, management and administration, among other fields.
Minor Requirements (18 Hours)
18 credit hours in Speech Communication (SPCH). 9 of those 18 credit hours must be in courses numbered 300 or higher.
