Nurse Midwifery, M.S.N.
Master of Science Nurse-Midwife
The Nurse Midwifery program prepares registered nurses to provide direct patient management in primary care and hospital. Graduates are employed in a variety of settings including the hospital, community health clinics, birth centers, and women’s health care settings.
The curriculum prepares students to take the national certification exam from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
Requirements for earning the Masters include:
- Completion of an approved program of study;
- Completion of an applied research course, NURS 791 (3);
- A GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) on all courses attempted for graduate credit and all courses numbered 700 and above;
- A GPA of a 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) on all courses on the approved program of study;
- Passing a comprehensive assessment during the last semester of the program.
