The Graduate Certificate in Accounting is a 12-credit hour program structured to be completed in a single year. The courses for the graduate certificate program are offered online only, taught in a synchronous format with four seven-week periods.  Students will acquire knowledge and competencies in analytics applied to accounting, advanced auditing theory and application, and auditing and accounting technology.  The student takes three required courses, then takes a fourth elective class to complete the certificate in one functional area of accounting analytics, internal auditing, or forensic accounting.

Founded and led by well-respected faculty in their academic fields, the program is intentionally designed to be applied so that graduates are equipped to understand and help solve a wide array of problems. The emphasis is on the ability to use technology to analyze and interpret data in accounting and auditing and being able to communicate the results of such analyses to appropriate audiences (e.g., company management, clients, government reporting entities).

One Elective Course (3 hours)

Take one elective course from an approved list determined before the beginning of each academic year by the Master of Accountancy Committee at the Darla Moore School of Business and published on the program’s website.  The elective course allows a student to take a deeper dive into a particular discipline.
