Sport and Entertainment Management, M.S.E.M.
Admissions Requirements
The Admissions Office should normally admit applicants who meet the following conditions:
- Applicant has a minimum total GRE score is 300 and Quantitative and Verbal percentile minimums are 50%. (note we consider waivers for the GRE and will probably remove this requirement in the future for the online program)
- Undergrad GPA of at least 3.0
- Relevant work experience of at least 3 years
- Two satisfactory letters of recommendation
Degree Requirements (36 Hours)
Thesis Option
Students electing the thesis option must complete 27 credit hours of required courses, complete at least 9 credit hours of elective course work from which a maximum of 9 credit hours may be taken outside of the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management, complete a thesis, and successfully defend the thesis as their comprehensive assessment.

Non-Thesis Option
Students electing the non-thesis option must complete 21 credit hours of required courses, complete at least 15 credit hours of elective course work from which a maximum of 9 credit hours may be taken outside of the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management, and pass a comprehensive examination upon completion of all course work. Students selecting the non-thesis option may (but are not required to) enroll in HRSM 795 for 6 elective credit hours.
